DEPARTMENT OF ORAL MEDICINE AND RADIOLOGY

This specialty of dentistry trains the students in the fundamentals of diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases and management of medically compromised patients. Diagnosis is also made using technologically advanced Roentgen graphic techniques.

DEPARTMENT OF ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY

This is the Specialty of dentistry, which aims to impart basic clinical knowledge of extraction of the teeth minor and major surgeries with latest state of art equipment. A full-fledged major OT is present in the KIMS hospital building. An inpatient ward with 25 separate beds for males and females is present adjacent to the department.

Casualty department in the KIMS hospital building is open 24 hours a day and dental cases are attended to by the oral surgeons. Experienced staff trains postgraduate students

DEPARTMENT OF PERIODONTIA

The department is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease, the incidence of which is the highest in the country. The department is committed to the prevention of the periodontal disease both by surgical and non-surgical methods. The services of the staff are backed by the three dental hygienists.

The Dept., deals and conceiving natural tooth by reitorative and endodontic Treatment.

The Dept., handles students from I BDS to IV BDS. It gives intensive training to interns for 2 months in the various restorative procedures. Both UG's and PG's hence the state of art equipment to render quality treatment under sterile environment. Experienced staff renter? Treatment to a vait population of?

DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATIVE DENTISTRY AND ENDODONTICS

Both UG & PG have the state of art equipment to render quality educational environment.

The department of conservative dentistry handles students right from 1st BDS to IV BDS.

The department deals with conserving natural tooth by restorative and endodontic treatment

DEPARTMENT FOR PROSTHODONTICS AND DENTAL MATERIALS

The department of Prothodontics and dental materials is responsible for educating and training the students from the first year of their BDS course through the final year and internship in the science and art of managing people who have lost few or all the teeth with different types of dentures or prosthesis.

The highly qualified and trained staff apart from their teaching duties is also managing a vast number of patients with fixed, removable dentures and maxillofacial prosthesis.

A good acrylic lab, a casting and ceramic laboratory manned by qualified technicians, supports the well equipped clinical department.

DEPARTMENT OF ORTHODONTICS AND DENTOFACIAL ORTHOPEDICS

The department of Orthodontics and dentofacial Orthopedics is a postgraduate department, where different types of malocclusion are diagnosed and treated. The department is equipped with latest state of art equipment with computerized software for diagnosis and treatment planning. The undergraduate and postgraduate students are highly qualified to treat all aspects of malocclusion by highly qualified team of staff headed by Dr. M.S. Rani.

DEPARTMENT OF PEDODONTIA AND PREVENTIVE DENTISTRY

A well equipped adequately staffed state of the art equipment which deals with comprehensive and therapeutic dental health care for the child patient. A very aesthetic and functional clinic where a balance is struck treating normal children with special health care needs.

DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DENTISTRY

The department is dedicated to the prevention and control fo dental diseases and promotion of oral health. The department conducts camps in collaboration with non-governmental organizations. The department has adopted a number of schools and rural and urban centres.

The main attraction of the department is a museum where charts and models have been exhibited for understanding of dental health.

Campus are conducted through the Mobile Dental Unit, which is biggest in the country. The mobile dental unit has two chairs with all attachments and 20 seating capacity.

DEPARTMENT OF ORAL PATHOLOGY AND MICROBIOLOGY

This department has a Clinical & Histopathology section. Preliminary blood investigations & incroscopic.

Lecture and practical classes in tooth, morphology, oral histology and oral pathology are conducted for the students emphasizing on clinical and microscopic aspects.

This department has a museum with a collection of over 200 specimens.

Postgraduates are trained in all fields of Oral Pathology.
